Henan University of Chinese Medicine (hereinafter referred to as “HUCM”) is an institution qualified to recruit the Chinese Government Scholarship applicants. In order to promote mutual understanding and friendship between the Chinese and people around the world and promote China’s cooperation and exchanges with other countries in various fields, the Chinese government sets up scholarships for talented students and scholars to pursue higher education or conduct research in Chinese universities.
The "University Graduate" program of Chinese Government Scholarship (hereinafter referred to as Graduate Program) was established in 2014 to serve the strategic goal of world-class universities and first-class discipline construction. It gives full scholarships to the high-leveled international students worldwide to study in China. It also fully promotes the "double first-class" construction and development of universities, provides talent guarantee for the coordinated development of national strategies and internationalization of universities.
1.1 Supporting Categories
The University Program supports graduates only.
The scholarship covers both major study and Chinese language (preparatory) study. The duration of the language is generally one year and the duration of the scholarship for major study conforms to that as required.
1.3 Instruction Language: Chinese
2.1 Tuition fees;
2.2 Accommodation or accommodation subsidy;
Master’s students: CNY 3,000 per month;
Doctoral students: CNY 3,500 per month.
2.4 Comprehensive medical insurance:
CNY 800 per person per year.
Applicants can refer to the “2022 Specialty Catalogue of CSC Scholarship Graduate Program of HUCM” (Appendix 1) for reference.
To be eligible, applicants must:
4.1 be a citizen of a country other than the PRC and in good health both mentally and physically, and have no criminal record;
4.2 abide by the laws and regulations of the Chinese government and the rules and regulations of the university;
4.3 have positive attitude towards learning and excellent academic performance;
4.4 be a bachelor’s degree holder under the age of 35 when applying for master’s programs;
4.5 be a master’s degree holder under the age of 40 when applying for doctoral programs;
4.6 have acquired the Chinese proficiency of HSK Level 4 when applying for Chinese-taught master’s or doctoral programs;
4.7 meet the admission requirements of the applied universities in terms of academic ability, language proficiency and other relevant criteria.
5.1. Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship (in Chinese or English);
5.2. Copy of Passport Home Page and the visa page (if have experience in China). An applicant shall submit a clear scanned copy of the information page of his/her passport that will not expire on or before September 2022. Renew the passport if the requirement is not meet. Applicant who fails to apply for a passport due to objective reasons shall submit valid documentation or documentary evidence that carries information about the full English name, sex, nationality and date of birth of the applicant upon the approval of HUCM;
5.3. Notarized highest diploma. Prospective diploma winners shall submit official proof of student status by their current school. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations;
5.4. Academic transcripts (from the undergraduate program onwards). Copies of academic records from first to last semester during the undergraduate, graduate (if any), and doctoral programs (if any) shall be provided. These transcripts shall be issued and sealed by the attending university’s academic affairs office, graduate school, or student management department. They can be in Chinese or English, but must be attached with notarized English translations if they are in foreign languages other than English;
5.5. Language qualification certificates. Applicants for Chinese-taught programs must submit valid HSK reports in accordance with the corresponding Chinese proficiency requirements. No need for those who have obtained a degree in Chinese-taught programs in China;
5.6. Pre-admission documents. Pre-admission documents issued by HUCM;
5.7. A study plan proposal. A study plan written in Chinese or English only contains more than 1,000 characters or words, which covers the understanding of the applied major and the applied university, views on the future of the major, the personal planning and reasons for choosing to study this major in HUCM. The proposal of a doctoral student shall be signed by the applicant’s Chinese supervisor;
5.8. Recommendation letters. Two letters of recommendation (written only in Chinese or English) from professors or associate professors shall be submitted. These letters shall describe the applicant’s objectives of learning in China, comprehensive abilities, and evaluation of future growth, as well as the cooperation between the supervisors or the exchange between universities both in China and abroad;
5.9. Applicants under the age of 18 should submit the valid documents of their legal guardians in China;
5.10. A photocopy of the Foreigner Physical Examination Form completed in English (the original copy shall be kept by the applicant). (Appendix 2) The form is designed by the Chinese quarantine authority and can be obtained from the dispatching authority. The physical examinations must cover all the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete records or those without the signature of the attending physician, the official stamp of the hospital, or a sealed photograph of the applicants are invalid. Please select the appropriate time to take a physical examination as the result is valid for only 6 months;
5.11. Non-criminal record report. The applicant shall submit a valid certificate of Non-Criminal Record issued by the local public security authority, usually issued within 6 months prior to the submission date of the application.
NOTE: Uploaded supporting documents must be clear, authentic and valid. Applicants are recommended to use a professional device to scan the relevant documents. Applicants shall bear the consequences caused by unclear or unidentifiable uploaded materials.
6.1 An applicant shall visit “CSC Study in China” website and click “Scholarship Application for Students” at http://www.campuschina.org. Register an account through [CREATE AN ACCOUNT] and log in with your account. The agency number of HUCM is 10471. Please refer to the Instructions for Chinese Government Scholarship Information System (CGSIS) for operating instructions (Appendix 3)
6.2 An applicant shall log in to the “International Student Service System of HUCM”（https://hactcm.17gz.org/）at the same time, register online, fill in the application information, and submit all documents through the system.
NOTE: CSC does not accept direct applications from individuals.
As of 10th April, 2022
8.1 HUCM examines the application documents and conducts written examination or interview, recommends the excellent candidates to China scholarship Council;
8.2 The pre-admitted applicants can receive the scholarship to study in China after passing the assessment of CSC experts;
8.3 CSC scholarship recipients shall not enjoy other scholarships (excluding all kinds of one-time Awards) established by Chinese governments at all levels and admitted institutions at the same time. For those who deliberately conceal the funding, once found, their CSC scholarship will be cancelled and the scholarship must be returned; the recipients will be disqualified and loose the applying qualification for CSC scholarships for three years.
8.4 Scholarship recipients will not be allowed to change their host university, field of study, or duration of study stipulated on the Admission Letter after they come to China;
8.5 Scholarship will not be reserved if the scholarship recipient cannot register before the registration deadline.

Please carefully read the instructions before applying for the scholarship.
Step 1: Visit “CSC Study in China” website and click “Scholarship Application for Students” at http://www.campuschina.org
Register an account through [CREATE AN ACCOUNT] and log in with your account.
Step 2: Input Personal Details. Click “Edit Personal Details” and finish inputting personal details by filling in all the information, verifying and saving the information. After the completion of this section, return to the previous page by clicking “Finish” and start filling in your application information.
Step 3: Select the correct “Program Category”.
Please select Program Category “Type B”, click “New Application”, and start filling in the application information.
Step 4: Input the correct “Agency Number (provided by the preferred designated university)”.
The Agency Number of HUCM is: 10471
Program Category and Agency Number are directly matched, both are mandatory for online application.
After inputting the agency number, the matched agency name will automatically show on the page. As Program Category and Agency Number are directly matched, application processing authorities will not receive your online application if the program category or agency number is not correct.
Step 5: Input Application Information
Next, please move on to the section of “Language Proficiency and Study Plan” and upload “Supporting Documents” as requested, then click “Submit” to complete the application. Check each part of your application carefully before submission. Please make sure that all the information and uploaded documents are valid and accurate.
“Type B” applicants can apply for the scholarship program of three desired universities by providing their respective “Agency Number”. However, they, in practice, can only be the scholarship candidates of one of these institutions, which is determined by the time when universities submit their recommendation letters. Applicants are advised to fill in the university that has offered a pre-admission letter to increase the chances of getting admitted.
Step 6: Once submitted, amendments cannot be made on “Personal Details” and “Application Information”. Before the application is processed by the processing authorities, applicants can revoke the submitted application by clicking “Withdraw” and edit the application. After revoking the application, applicants must submit it again after re-editing, or the application will not be processed. Once the application is processed, the application cannot be revoked.
Step 7: Click “Print the Application Form” and download the form.
Step 8: Submit scholarship application under the requirements of the dispatching authorities (or application processing agency).
