1 Why HUCM?
Founded in 1958, Henan University of Chinese Medicine (HUCM) is located in Zhengzhou, the capital city of Henan province. It is one of the earliest established TCM universities in China, and the only TCM higher institution in Henan province which was approved by the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council to confer Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral degrees. It is one of the five TCM universities co-sponsored by the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine and provincial government. In the past 60 years, it has developed from a TCM college into a general university with over 19,000 students, providing undergraduate and postgraduate (Master’s and Doctorate) programs, international education and continuing education programs in medicine, engineering, science, management and arts. The university has established cooperative relationships with over 50 educational research and medical institutions worldwide.
It has four campuses, covering an area of 1594.94 mu (roughly 163hectares), consisting of 17schools (departments or centers), providing 24Bachelor’s, 57 Master’s and 18 Doctoral programs inclusive of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine, Acupuncture-Moxibustion and Tuina, Chinese Orthopedics, Nursing, Herbology and Preventive Medicine. Among these 35 are listed as key discipline of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Under it there are 3 provincial level affiliated hospitals, 129 clinical teaching bases, and 59 research institutes.
Henan Province, where HUCM is located, is the major root of Chinese medicine and birthplace of ZHANG Zhongjing. Great works of TCM such as the Yellow Emperor’s Classic of Internal Medicine, the Treatise on Febrile and Miscellaneous Diseases, and the Shennong Herbal Encyclopedia were completed in Henan. Henan abounds in over 2780 kinds of Chinese herbs and takes the third place in terms of variety and quantity. Henan is also the place where Chen’s Taichi originated.

3 Application Requirement
3.1 Applicants must be a citizen of a country other than the People’s Republic of China, be in good health, and no criminal record.
3.2 The requirements for applicants’education backgroundand age are that applicants must:
be under the age of 45 and have a high school diploma (or higher) when applying for the general scholar programs;
be a master’s degree holder or an associate professor (or above) under the age of 50 when applying for the senior scholar programs;
be above the age of 18 when applying for the short-term programs.
Applicants’ education background and age are not limited on short-term training, clinical internship and Chinese language training program.
4 When to apply

5 Supporting documents
5.1 Highest diploma (photocopy, notarized copy either in Chinese or English)
5.2 Photocopy of Foreigner Physical Examination Form (filled in English or Chinese, can be downloaded fromthewebsite: sie.hactcm.edu.cn).
5.3 Chinese Language Proficiency Test result (Valid HSK certificate if available)
5.4 Certified certificate or notarized copy of non-criminal record. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be accompanied by notarized copies of the translation in either of these two languages.
5.5 Copy of valid passport (the page including personal information and photo) and China visa page if having been to China.
6 Application procedure
6.1 Register and sign in the Chinese International Students Service System (https://hactcm.17gz.org/).
6.2 Fill your application information and submit your application documents in accordance with the requirements of system.
7 Admission process
7.1All the short-term students admitted by the university are issued by our school to the "Henan University of TCM Admission Notice" and the "Foreign Student Visa Application Form" (JW202 table);
7.2Any student who is admitted to the university shall hold his/her passport, the acceptance notice, the JW202 form, the physical examination record of the foreigner, and the blood test report to the local Chinese Embassy for the entry study (X) visa;
7.3According to the time stipulated in the admission notice, hold the above documents to the International Institute of Education in Henan University of TCM for admission formalities and residency formalities in China.
8Fees and Funding(in RMB)
8.1Registration Fee:CNY 600.
8.2Tuition Fee:
Applicants who study within six months are considered as short-term students. Short-term students are divided into three categories that are: short-term Chinese learning, clinical practice and short-term training.
(1) Short-term training: CNY200/day
(2) Clinical Practice: CNY100/day.
(3) Short-term Chinese learning: CNY80/day.
(4) Cultural experience:To be specified in a definite condition.
(5) The cost standards above can be appropriately adjusted in line with the training content change and the actual situation.
8.3AccommodationFee
Single Room: CNY32 /day; Standard Twin Room: CNY16/day.
9 Payment Method
The fees shall be paid after entrance.
